Bleh...

It's been a while, I think, since I last complained about band, but something's been on my nerves.

(recap: 7th hr=freshman and sophmores (me), 8th hr=juniors and seniors)

So monday, our bd gives us a brand new piece to memorize by this sunday. HA. I can barely play it with the music in front of me, and (trying not to sound cocky, but) I am one of the best in our band. (7th hour i mean. idk about 8th)

So, before we go outside to try to march without music today, I mentioned that we should all just play the old piece. So, we spread it to all the band kids, and when we got outside and he called up the piece (1 whistle) we all played the old song.

It was kind of funny even though we got yelled at.

But the main point in this story: why do we have one week to learn two pieces (yeah, there's another piece we've got to learn by sunday we got monday) when 8th hour has had both pieces for a month or so.

Bleh... Annoying

Also, the last concert I had three solos- two of them short. Well, I play double horn and found out that the third valve on my second horn was screwing up halfway through the first song, and the solos were in the second. And most every note in the second solo of that song were two and three on the second horn. Well, I had to real quick change fingerings and play solely on my first horn, which I hadn't practiced at all and let's just say I splattered it.

I think my bd was dissapointed (she's a horn player) but I nailed the first and third (third was the long one) so I hope that overran it. But yeah, in front of all my family I screwed up so badly...

*kicks horn*

Besides that, we're almost out of school. ^^ Tomorrow is seniors last day. This year, seniors aren't allowed to walk if they play any pranks, even little ones. The teachers were so angry about last years pranks (I don't really know why) they said if any pranks were pulled, they would all leave. lol.
